Big Society Revenue and Customs
Outstanding!
Read more here:
The Big Society Revenue and Customs organisation exists as a volunteer led group to collect taxes from those whom the HMRC can’t, due to cuts. Big society means volunteers picking up where the government leaves off, so they’re going out on December 4th to demand some money from Vodafone and Sir Philip Green and his tax avoidant clothing empire.
It’s slightly satirical, but to be honest they’ve got a point. When services affecting the poor are being cut left right and center to pay back a debt incurred by rich banks and the rich are allowed to continue to avoid paying tax to support the economy, then things are very fucked indeed.

Daydreaming
It occurs to me from time to time that certain people in life don’t get stressed about stuff. And then that leads me to thought experiments. Daydreamers - they have the ability at will to float off on the sea of their imagination to virgin shores limited only by their own mind. Daydreamers don’t get stressed about life, daydreamers can halt life in its tracks and simply fly away.
All of us, we know what we need and we know it differs from what we want. But if we stay locked in that internal struggle, it will wear us down. What we need is space to ruminate. To digest what life throws at us. What we want is distraction, be it from telly, games, books, bars, phones, internets.
Too many people are mentally ill because they don’t allow themselves the space to actually deal with what life throws at them. To you, I say learn to daydream. Let your thoughts carry you far away and when you return you will be refreshed and better able to deal with life.
Make this a regular occurrence and you’ll soon feel better.

Today I was asleep.
I just have to say a couple of things about the last few days...
Firstly, Crippled Black Phoenix on Thursday night were amazing, even taking into account the sound issues they were having. The upstairs at the Relentless Garage, Camden isn’t the biggest in the world — but they somehow managed to fit an 8 piece band on the stage and play beautifully.
Music wise, imagine a slightly more grungy version of Mogwai, crossed with Pink Floyd and you’ll get the bizarre gist of it. I videoed one of their songs and whacked it here:
Brighton for Full Frontal on Friday was also pretty amazing...more youtube bits from a guy at Mozilla here:
