Delayed flight means I didn’t get in until 12:40 Berlin time. I got the last bus from the airport and probably one of the last S-Bahn too. Skin of teeths : ( Managed to remember to bring my Private Eye with me, one down, one to go. This makes me happy : ) Slight rice milk failure in hold of airport means I have a slightly soggy carton in the fridge. Fortunately Liam reminded me to put it in a bag so my clothes are dry. He destroyed the other carton so it came with me in a thermos, which held up marvellously... Going to a) find bars this week I’ve not been to b) hopefully do some photography with a real live person somewhere fabulous in Berlin c) possibly spend a little less than I did last week d) get some sleep. Tho, not right now, as I’m wide awake...grr. Nice weekend spent wandering round bits of London, nomming freshly cooked Steak, veggie Sunday roast from Wild Cherry (part of the LBC) and buying bits for camping. Confused some poor old thing at Liverpool Street who couldn’t work the machines trying to book our tickets to Cromer. Liam’s smile was painted on as she told him off for not explaining he had a YP railcard before she’d done the booking as she’d have to do it all again. I thought that perhaps in future she might do well to ask the question...but kept my mouth shut : ) You know those annoying people at ticket counters that take 20 mins to get their tickets? That’s us that is. Bit of a cycle this morning. I swear the new Olympic stadium is going to be able to pick up Sky any day now. I’m not convinced it’ll manage to do much else by 2012 though. JG Ballard died. One film I’ve not watched and I’ve been meaning to is Crash by Cronenberg. Think I might have to now. Might actually buy some of his books too 0: -) “The suburbs dream of violence. Asleep in their drowsy villas, sheltered by benevolent shopping malls, they wait patiently for the nightmares that will wake them into a more passionate world.” — JG Ballard, Kingdom Come Right. 1am. I should really try and get some sleep I think. I suspect this will be a long week...
