Musings on a world I am no longer sure about

Failed totally to write any music last night. Liam had promised to keep me off the internet by being incredibly cruel and evil at me but sadly didn’t, so I had to mock everyone else instead. Got a tad hungry so accidentally ordered pizza. Watched some QI and some HIGNFY. Got up bright and early and made a video out of bits. Not bad for half hour’s work? Concert tonight. Rah!

What has my flatmate been up to? (clicky)
What has my flatmate been up to?
Sat here watching the world go by. The greyness of cheap instant coffee spirals around in my mug, matching the greyness I see out the glass wall next to me. More work upon work making Orange’s site look all christmassy. I hate christmas already and it’s not even November yet. Spent the weekend being chilled. Failed to go out for a quick drink after food with Liam on Friday. What was meant to be a couple in the Swan after our chicken/cheese/sunblushed tomato/new potatoes (very) al dente and spinach mealything that was rather yummy...er...where was I? Yes, what was meant to be a quick drink ended up with us bumping into first Jon, Tom and Paul and then Kenton and Lloyd and rolling in steaming at around 3am. Oh well. Up and not feeling too bad on Saturday. Very tired though, in retrospect I should so have had a disco nap. Watched some telly with Liam then he headed off to find his Sister and I headed off to cash a cheque and then trundled slowly up to Shepherds Bush with my camera stuff for an amazing Bit Phalanx session at Ginglik. Photos here. Got to meet a friend of Liam’s called Alex who was cool, as well as meeting Liam’s sis. I blagged free entry (ta Léigh!) in exchange for my amazing photographic skills and so set about snapping the various acts. Mostly I was foiled once more by it all being incredibly dark, but bleh. Sorta got some good shots. Saw justg, peoplepoo, debaser as well as the aforementioned onelittlespaceman. Decided that next time Bit Phalanx are in London I’m going to stab people until they come with me. We need more freaks there, it was outstanding. I left at around 1ish I reckon. Two buses home and I arrived safe and sound at 3 at which point I collapsed into bed. Woke up at 12 on account of lack of sleep, which was nice. I usually wake up at 7am regardless. Pottered about a bit and then abused mogwai until he got his shit together and we both biked off down the canal towards Tesco. I have one of those little bike bells that you get on modern bike that just go “ting” instead of “ring ring” - it’s a bell with a single bendy plastic bit that twangs the metal rim. A not very strong bendy plastic bit, so it would seem. I pulled it down and let go and watched it “ting” and then watched the handle fly over my head into the canal. Hmph. Bought FAR too much shopping at Tesco. TJ was complaining somewhat about the weight of it. The big girl. Mine was twice as heavy as his. Was fun though, especially the whole centre of gravity thing being all wrong on account of very heavy bag. We got back and weighed the bags because we needed to. They were that heavy. TJs weighed 1st 9lb. Mine weighed 3st 9lb. And now my back hurts ; ) Cooked TJ scampi and chips. He didn’t think he’d ever had scampi before. I grew up on scampi, perhaps it’s an Essex thing. I think he’ll be wanting them again though. Damn they were good. Bought tesco value seafood sauce. I was correct in my assumption that it was simply tesco value mayonnaise and tesco value ketchup mixed I think. Watched Episode II - Clonez (on purpose). Suitably amused. There’s a short on the second DVD about R2D2 and why he hasn’t been in many other films. Apparently he’s very hard to work with and likes the ladies a little too much. Failed to have an early night. Failed to sleep at all well too. Had a very odd dream whereby there were a load of us stuck in a tent that flooded. But all I cared about was my bike, even after one of us had died. And then there were a load of us stuck in a game whereby we were given different clues at different points and offing the other teams was allowed. I was just going with the flow until I got trapped in someone else’s house with a creepy darts game going on. The darts kept bouncin

3gp:https://www.freakcity.net/test/11922084708947_1.3gp Things you don’t see every day #27. God I’m hungover. James arrived last night, spent far too long in the Fitzroy drinking beer with him, Owen, Jen, Winj, Nym, Adam and Sunin. Hangovers fucking suck. Breakfast at Cafe Verde. Sexy waiter serving us with an accent, James enquires as to where he’s from and he replies “Transylvania” after making us guess a bit. “Oh”, says James. “Are they all as cute as you?”. Embarrassed waiter shuffles off a bit, laughing, then shouts “no” from the door ; ) - today was spent pottering about, mostly, heading home soon to let my hangover tickle me some more. Liam had an adding exam or something. “piece of piss” he says. Party tomorrow. Yay :-)

the liver embraces it

Spent some time yesterday admiring my brand new puncture. I’d had the bike less than 24 hours before the lovely kevlar strips in my tyres proved their absolute and complete uselessness and a screw went straight through my tyre and flattened my innertube. And not any screw, a 3 inch whopper of a screw that caused my bike to rattle like I’d added demented spokey dokeys to my wheels, basically scaring the shit out of me until I stopped and worked out what’d happened. It also shat it down. And after my amazing freewheel experience the other weekend I’d forgotten to pop a new innertube in my bag. Plus, Liam was on his way over and I was 4 miles from home. How amazing is my luck? I got the tyre off, found the puncture, patched it and got the bike all back together again in about 10 minutes flat though, which I thought was pretty damn good going though. Arrived home in time to realise Lloyd had already arrived. Lent him my old phone, as apparently his aunt had dropped his one in water. Got out of my wet clothes and spread dinner around on the floor just as Liam arrived. Opened the door... “Now that’s the kind of welcome I like” he says, looking me up and down. Heh. I ran off and put some shorts on over my boxers and set about constructing stirfry out of ingredients. New DVDs I’ve had arrive in the last few days: Starchaser: The Legend of Orin — very strange cartoon from 1985 that made me all wistful and reminiscent. More of this in a mo. Crusade — now all I’m missing is the Legend of the Rangers Party Monster : D X Men 3 Children of Men Dancer in the Dark New CDs: iLiKETRAiNS - Elegies to Lessons Learnt Hans Zimmer - Hannibal OST I also received Volume 5 of the Babylon 5 scripts. Which was annoying as I’d ordered Volume 12. Mailed Cafépress about it and got a reply within an hour telling me they’d sent the right one free of charge/postage. So Owen gets the old one ; ) Having created dinner, we settled down to watch Starchaser, I warned Liam that I’d not seen it in yeeeears and it was probably way crappier than my 11yr old mind had remembered. Duly noted we set about sniggering rather a lot at much of it. And in a good way, I think. There was swearing, sexism, rape allegories and gay jokes. What more could a man want? Chris phoned halfway through to apologise for having forgotten my birthday. He sounded so sad about it. Bah. I shall hug him soon. Followed up Silly 80s DVD with some Time Trumpet, which had us giggling rather too much. I hope they do another season. Flikk is about to embark on a career as a philatelist! Shocking! Very much suits him though — I can imagine him, shiny leather elbows on a tweed coat, magnifying glass in hand. Possibly with a small moustache, being smug and eccentric at everyone. Long day today. And it’s only 2pm. Bah. Sometimes life sucks. No punctures yet so far. Or rain. which is nice. Tonight I’m going to tidy stuff I think. And bitch about the nonexistant aircon today. As I am melting, and a fat man melting is unpleasant to watch. Or something.
