I think...
...it’s still way too early to be awake...
Saw Dan on Weds and sorted stuff out a bit, which is nice. Earned him some money which also involved 23 bottles of baby oil and a slightly greasy flat. *snigger* Am saying no more than that...
He went off to visit the woman thing and predictably didn’t return...
...so I went to the Swan. Holy shit! I have *never ever* seen it that busy ever on a Wednesday. Even skywalker turned up 
Met various people there. Went back to a mate’s place with Adam to watch various Manga things and drink more. oops! The mate in question is called Nick and has a 50" plasma telly!! It’s HUGE!
We watched (I think) Sweetie Honey and Super Milk girl or something. Terribly amusing. Went to bed at 8. 
Lost most of yesterday for exactly that reason. So spent most of the day making new slagdar “friends”
Had a bit of a faux pas with a strange rent boy thing who joined then left again proclaiming FreakCity to be sex obsessed and bitchy. *snigger*
He then went on to accuse me of lying to him to get him to join, so I pointed out that moaning about sex obsession was a bit rich coming from a rent boy, at which point I was accused of slander by him as he was an “escort” and not a “rent boy” and I collapsed into fits of giggles.
If it looks like a dog and barks like a dog...well...it just must be a cat then...
Off to Owen’s tonight for NYE - plus off to Chariots after in the hopes of catching up with Drew as I ain’t seen him in aaages! Well - if I stay awake that long...

Flopped around most of the day. Yay us! Had a big fryup and a Pizza. Kevin and Darren came over, Kevin was wankereded, which was funny.
Avoided Dan’s calls all day then texted him to tell him to stop calling. He appeared to be being truthful so sorta talking.

Days days days run away like horses into the wind...
I’m baaaack. From Owen’s. For the evening. Well, unless he’s still planning on pulling more tonight too... Saw the grandparents, got prezzies from them (big cushions) and the aunt (picture frame and choccies) and gave Oliver his prezzie (hovercraft! How cool am I?) Three hundred servings of chinese food later I’m back, waiting for Ronnie to come round and then off out to Windypops tonight. Who knows what the night will hold for me.

What...
...a shit day. Got to bed at 4am on account of strange goings on. I swear I’ve about had enough of life. Up at 7:45 - into work to discover there’d been a powercut due to a fire in the basement last night. No power for 1 hour. Gets to 1pm and there’s a huge powercut covering a vast amount of Hammersmith - 20,000 people affected or something. Power goes back on at 2:15 Now I’m bored shitless and have too much work to do but can’t be arsed doing any of it. My life is so fucked. Remind me to emigrate...

Weekend of excess
arty Friday night I fiddled with bits of code and waited for Dan to arrive. Chatted some and had an earlyish night - up in the morning in reasonable shape to do a photoshoot for a singer named Kris (www.krissearle.com) which was a fun way to spend Saturday - some of them came out really well
Saturday night was the hastily disorganised freakcity anti-xmas drinkies, we ended up in Retro bar. Danny, Foofoo, Richard, MattNottm and moi. With Jules (zzzp) working behind the bar so that’s almost 6 of us. *cackle*
I was a bit drunken, and decided we should go to XXL - footle was taking the piss a bit out of it so I dragged him along too. Dominic (entadaeastenda) was there, and everyone decided he was dead sexy. I got lots of cuddles too which was nice
Sunday I did fuck all. I was hungover. And so bleh, really.

Just pissed off that in typical British tradition he’s been forced out by a pointless scandal as opposed to his draconian policies. Still, was nice to see him plastered all over the papers in tears...
Got tomcat and mysql to almost work together. Almost. Installed a test app and got a stacktrace - which means it installed, I have ant working, and tomcat configured right.
Did lots of little bits to freakcity, including fixing the annoying scrolling menu bug in firefox and a couple of other bits. Met Dan after work and got a haircut - his trip to hospital told him he has a peptic ulcer. Went home and made veggie toad in the hole with roast spuds. Jõao told me he misses me. Aww His keyboard player has left the band and he has decided to move to London when he has finished his degree and get a job here.
Early night as I have a long rest of week. It’s the work Christmas party tonight, theme is “Gangsters and Molls” - Andrew wanted to wear a mole outfit. I am glad we hired him

This weekend I need a freakcity drinking establishment.

Made veggie toad in the hole with roast spuds. Forgot to take anything out the freezer for today. Left a little late as I was trying to get RAS working. Dammit!

Watched episode 9 of JJ Abrams’ Lost - the first written by David Fury - was surprised to see Mira Furlan turning up as a slightly mad French woman in a bizarre B5/Alias/Buffy crossover...so her accent’s Yugoslavian and not French, the Yanks won’t notice, right?

Ended up leaving on time, having got Tomcat and Apache talking to each other happily at last. Felt knackered. Got asked to DJ at Windypops by spiritusmundispit between 8-9, so rushed home and made some audio CDs then headed off there. Played “You’re so Vain” for him. *snigger* Had arranged to see Dan at just after 9, so rushed back home to see him. He had to vanish at about 11 so went back to Windypops for much giggling...bumped into a guy called Nick there who I’ve not seen in aaages! Lives just down the road from me now Kim was there too ("the DJ is very good").
Late to bed and early to rise makes a man knackered. So bleh! Going to write some database classes today. And then my plan to take over the world will be complete! Raaah!

Toothless!
Blurry Wharf I had my tooth out on Friday. The cleaning hurt much more than the extraction itself, but hearing and feeling bones break in your head is a deeply vile experience...so worked from home on Friday. Was told that *both* my upper wisdom teeth would have to be removed and so was booked in for another appointment on Thursday. Thinking about it though, I may postpone it until after christmas as I feel fine now I’m abcess free, and I’ve had a lot of time off anyway...
Dan came over Friday night as he doesn’t have his laptop at the moment - showed me the engagement ring he bought Laura - wasn’t too tacky considering...I bet him a quid he’d give it her and he bet me a tenner he wouldn’t *giggle*.
Talked to mommy on Saturday - they decided to come visit Sunday - so spent much of Saturday tidying. Went to Canary Wharf to buy wrapping paper and a tree - tho failed on the latter front as I’m not paying 25 quid for a tree when I can get ’em far cheaper elsewhere...
It was a beautiful night. 1 Canada Square was wreathed in mist, giving it a faint glow - as if waiting silently to see what new ediface would challenge it next for the skyline. I really regretted not having my camera as the camera on the P900 doesn’t do it justice. Walked via the river home.
Dominic dragged me out at about 10:30 to GAY. Eugh. Got drunk as it seemed the only sensible thing to do. Pissed, I got on the #25 and watched as a nice man reached into my pocket and fetched himself my phone. So I took it back from his hand and thanked him politely for it
Decided I should go to XXL in a drunken haze. Urgh. Think I passed out, don’t remember. Went home and drank lots of water.
Sunday arrived and I was woken by Andy phoning me to tell me they’d left. Tried to get the prezzies all wrapped in time but spent 10 minutes trying to find the scissors I’d slipped into my pocket half an hour before...I knew it was one of those days...
Got the bus with Mum and Andy to Aldgate then wandered down to Spitalfields market to look at pretty pretty things and drink much coffee. Fucking cold out and heaving inside the market - tried some tasty sesame seed tofu, bought some bits (aroma oil, coffee beans, etc) and then went to another market made out of an old carpark. Looked for coats but found nothing. Bought soya milk. No xmas trees either
Wandered back to the flat from Aldgate as it wasn’t too bad weather. Stopped in Ligne Roset en route, to look at pretty pretty expensive furniture. Going to buy all of it and put it in a flat one day. Yay!
After saying goodbye to them I sat at home in my nice clean(ish) flat and caught up on Lost. I’d finished watching Càrnivale on Saturday and I’m very much looking forward to the next series as it’s amazingly good. Best thing I’ve seen in a very long time...
Might buy the DVD I think. Have burned the whole thing to a DVD to take to Owen’s for xmas anyways, coz I reckon he’ll love it
Brief chat to Dan by text message before bed. Confused about that, don’t know what I want...he told me he still loves me, which was sweet, but I would expect him to still love me as we only split up last week. Ah well. Confused, as I said...

Ow!
I have an abcess and need to have a tooth removed
Been feeling run down for a couple of weeks now - and been getting really bad headaches - and it seems like this is the reason why. The pain comes and goes in waves and really is unimaginably bad at times...been putting off going to the dentist for a week because of work stuff - but woke up at 4am yesterday morning in total agony and decided I really needed to do something about it.
Phoned NHS Direct to get a referral to the emergency dentist in Whitechapel - phoned work and told them I’d probably not be in - went down to Barts to find they had no more space for people either morning or afternoon. Told work I’d not be working from home and just wanted a sick day - was pretty sure at this point I couldn’t concentrate at any rate
Went home and watched telly some. Didn’t manage to sleep as it hurt too much. Had been told there was an evening clinic at Whitechapel opening at 7pm - got there for 6:30 to find a huge queue...given ticket 63 when I eventually got through the door so I wandered off for a bit.
Got in to see the dentist at about 8:30 and he told me I had an abcess - poked my teeth and asked if it hurt and it didn’t, which I thought strange - he offered to remove the tooth there and then but said it’d be less comfortable than letting a proper dentist do it, so I wussed out.
Home, then sleep with painkillers. Did have shite dreams. Didn’t have as shite dreams as the night before, which involved bugs invading my flat and covering *everything* and no-one else giving a shit.

Am considering learning enough to be able to write GUI stuff for KDE - or at the very least, some themes - as it’s still a little garish. Then again I *am* using a theme called “lipstik”...

So been a bit quiet lately - been busy at work - final UAT cycle then we launch - Been busy with Dan, trying to get him to not eat junk food - failed to go to the gym at all last week because I was ill if I’m not working too late tonight I shall be gymming though - am determined!
Really need to catch up on sleep - tho I’ve got all my xmas shopping done now courtesy of the lovely people at BigPockets

Have a working X desktop again on ref:pixel - been playing with the new eyecandy stuff in X11 6.8.x too - screenshot here. Currently compiling a kernel for Manny too. Tho Manny’s fixed now and not just failing on everything involving MSHTML - which is a good thing.
Was naughty - bought the Alien Quadrilogy thing as it was on special...and Spiderman II which was very good - plot and everything...watched that and the director’s cut of Alien last night whilst compiling stuff. Also had pie with leek, carrot and potato which was yummy.
The UI for hotels is looking lovely. Working well too. Yay! Hoping there aren’t too many bugs when I get back in in a bit
