OK. Angel seems to have been written for people with 14 day memories this season. Grr. Still, a mighty fine episode. If a little predictable. Nearly finished the monster Javascript beasty thing that drives “compare”. Still considering adding a little flourish...might do if I get time. Am considering, as it requires Javascript to work, just disabling it for non Javascript enabled browsers, but may get into trouble, so might leave it “as is”. At any rate, I can think about it after Tuesday’s merge. Train broken at Shepherds Bush. Delayed. Unshocker. Am considering again writing some software to sync with Freakcity for the Palm. Meant to be meeting J after work...first time I’ve seen him in nearly a month. Rah. Or something. Beta is working oddly - logs me out whenever I post - which is strange. Will see if it’s the same @ work. • 9:01: Right. Let’s hope I don’t have to wait 15 mins for a bus again. Grr. More and more I’m suspecting that the beheading video is fake. Experts seem to agree there’s no Al Qaeda reference in it and that it was simply a convenient mistake by the US administration. Also, there’s the act itself. A man being decapitated would squirt blood and would probably wriggle more. I’ve no doubt he’s dead, just suspect it happened a while before the video was shot. Also, he was a hostage, they asked for the freedom of some prisoners in exchange for his life, the US said “no” and he was (unsurprisingly) killed for it. Not the first and certainly not the last. However, there’s a bunch of Whitehouse friendly blokes in the media who see the publishing of the prison torture pics as treasonous and they are trying to spin this into a “revenge” killing to gain the moral high ground and prove the point that dead Americans are the price of press freedom. And this is all conveniently detracting from what’s actually happening in Iraq...which isn’t pretty.
