Musings on a world I am no longer sure about
sunny
When Boyfriends Attack It’s all sunny and pretty and stuff outside. It’s even warm(ish)
Scary!
It occurred to me just now that it’s almost christmas. I might have to dig out the decorations and string ’em up too...might even make an Xmas freakcity theme or something, not sure yet.
I think I’m going to go christmas shopping in a bit - I have a good four hours left or so and I don’t know when I’ll next be free, as the family will want to monopolise next weekend at a guess.
Jamesog came over on Thursday, have been chilling out and watching telly a bit, plus far too much coding...feel a bit bad for having bored him, but that was my weekend plan anyways. He spent a while nesting in the living room, which I’m sure now looks like a subset of his bedroom
Still in Cobham next week, fixes and polishings for the mockups that have been done. Seem to have misplaced my rear bike light, which is worrying, but have no idea where it is. Maybe I should vacuum, it’s probably under all the mud in the hall.
Got a puncture on Weds on the way home, see...and it was pissing it down. So a very muddy bike wheel came home with me on the tube, the rest of the bike being chained to Waterloo station.
It was one of those moments where you think “what’s that stick doing stuck to my tyre” and then think “shit, I bet that’s holding the air in” just as you pull it off and hear a lovely hissing noise
Walked around half of East London trying to find a damn puncture repair kit, but no! couldn’t be found at all. For some obscure reason I thought that Halfords was open until 9, but it wasn’t. Wandered about in the dark a bit and settled for Sainsburys Garage, which had cheap ones. Very cheap ones. And I’m not talking money...
After the THIRD attempt to patch the hole, I gave up. And I gave up giving up smoking too. Gaz texted me to say hello, I popped out to meet him. He has silly hair at the moment
Was in a bad mood so took him for a drink at the Hearse before heading back to the flat. The Hearse seems to have gained popularity again, busy busy last Friday and pretty busy on an early Weds evening too...
Showed Gaz my firefly DVDs. Yay
Went to Swan for the Amateur strip night. Met dtt there, and a few others I know - entertainment! Sandra’s first stripper was barely capable of speech, being as drugfucked as a very drugfucked thing, he ended up threatening Sandra with some mumbles and then being kicked out. Second guy was an exhibitionist, and really shouldn’t have bothered. Back turned and chatting to vervain, she announces the next stripper as “Adam”. It was Adam the space_chicken! Not seen him in aaaaaages, and now I’ve seen him naked. Tsk. My life is strange
He won, too, £100. Then he spent lots of it on getting us drunk. Which was very kind of him!
Him and Sal and a few others wandered off to Chariots with the promise they’d get me up in the morning before going home...
Went home, shattered, went to bed. Fortunately, working from home on Thurs meant that I didn’t have to worry bout my bike right away. Was woken by text from Sal @ 8am, they turned up afterwards with enough breakfast to feed a horse or two. 4 litres of OJ, 24 rashers of bacon, 8 sausages, 10 eggs, 1 can of baked beans (still in my kitchen because I refuse to cook ’em
)...
Was cool. We ate, and Sal went to bed (bless) and Adam and I watched DonnieDarko - had forgotten that the song (Mad World) that Gaz had played to me last Friday was in it. Had forgotten how gorgeous it all was. Must get owen to see it soon!
He wandered off to meet friends, I did lots of work, went to Halfords and bought Slime and a new inner tube. Patched bike together and James arrived and we watched telly a bit then went to bed. Was late in the morning, almost missed my train (had to commute with a bike whee
