Musings on a world I am no longer sure about
bless
that all went horribly wrong
Changed the password code so it doesn’t store the password anywhere, but stores a rc4 hash of it instead. Theory being, this is more secure (tho it’s not really, it’ll shut people up moaning
)
It appears to have all gone horribly wrong tho. Fortunately my code for the resetting of passwords worked ok so people should be able to just request a new one and log in
Bought a new mobo. Might upgrade the server with the contents of pixel, then add the new mobo and a faster chip to pixel. Not sure yet
Might just put it all in the server. Server with gig of ram! Yay!

Rain Rain Make The Trains Go Away
Unsurprisingly, there’s a huge delay on all the trains. Obviously, running them in UK’s weather conditions for 100 years hasn’t prepared anyone for a bit of rain.
Fuckwits
Hm...I wonder if I should write “rude word censoring” functionality for the site
I could have it as an option in the prefs.
Well, I think it’d be funny

FUCK IT’S COLD! What, did someone turn on winter when I wasn’t looking? Holy crap! *shiver*

Striptastic!
Went to the swan with Danny...drank too much...think I was trying and failing to catch him up
Some lovely people entered the amateur strip...an American bloke who wanked at the end, which was nawty...very well hung tho
Strangely, Danny ended up trying to pull him - the American bloke had to leave tho (he was called “Hunter” apparently - I suspect he may have told a porkie
). He should have won, but an undynamic hairdresser with a fake tan pipped him to the post. There’s no accounting for taste!
The American leaving didn’t seem to deter Danny tho, he went on and chatted up and pulled one of the other runners up, a lovely Spanish lad called Diego, who apparently is a neighbour of mine, living not 200 yards from my flat. So Danny was happy
I got to use my first “I’m a photographer” card too...gave a bloke there my card who’d recognised me from the net and wants some pics doing for his portfolio...should be fun.
So no Danny on my sofa, tho Diego seemed desperate to make sure I thought Danny’d be ok, gave me his number and everything, and when I texted him to give him mine, phoned me to tell me Danny was ok and to let me speak to him. Curious. He’s either very kind and caring or a certified axe murderer. Not sure which, but he seemed ok

gawd...
I got paid (yay) and I’m almost skint again. Strange how life is like this really...you work your arse off for virtually nothing but the ability to live comfortably.
I think someone, somewhere, got it wrong...
Working from home tomorrow. Need to try and get my bike fixed properly, as I’m on buses and trains at the moment. I think that the bus company that serves Crawley couldn’t run a bath.
So...I’m gonna try and get an independent opinion on my bike. And then beat the people at Halfords about the head with it. There’s no way it should be as bad as it is after a couple of days cycling, even if I am big boned

Fridge DEAD
Ho hum. My fridge started getting warmer on Thursday. Thankfully it stopped at room temperature or I’d have a big hole.
Told the agency, they’ve told me I’m getting a new one \o/
I currently have a gr00vy cool box thing acting as my fridge, tho it’s not very cool any more
I have 4 vegetable pies to eat all at once
So...I have a few ickle bits of work to do, and then I might go shopping and buy a table.
It’s still sticky tho, even tho it did rain some last night

it’s too early
Sheesh. It’s my day off, so I wake at 7. My body hates me!
Got logs of work done tho, since then. Rah!
And added error checking into the code so you can’t register as a blank name, like some nawty person did yesterday. Tsk :)
Just need to add identical code to the backend too ;)
It’s quite sweet in a “lets think sideways about this” kinda way...dead simple too...
nam = document.form1.uname.value;
test = nam.replace(/([A-Za-z0-9_-])/gi,"$1$1");
if(test.length != nam.length*2 || nam.length==0 || nam.length >16){
error
}
so it replaces the text, then doubles it...if it’s not replaced the lot or nothing matches then test will never be namx2 in length, causing an error.
Pretty
Anyways...am gonna go wander round Tottenham Court Road now and go Shuttle PC searching - I want one with a mobo that’ll support Novak’s 1.1ghz Athlon and much higher, so I can upgrade her later...and DDR as I have a gig of it. Then James can have my DIMMs from the current mobo and stop moaning about all his PCs being broken.
See? I’m doing this for a good cause. Nothing to do with me liking buying toys at all

bittersweet came to visit today...he wanted some new and slightly less “blurry webcam” photos doing. Took over 400! I almost melted!

Stopped for dinner @ Wing’s Buffet. All you can eat for £9 (we’d missed the £5.50 buffet by 20 mins

payday
Initial frustration as it seemed that there might not be enough signatories to do my cheque in time for me to get to the bank today was quelled when it turned out there were enough signatories to do my cheque in time for me to get to the bank today.
So I am off out tonight. Well, after the client thing anyways
We plan on White Swan, preceded by Retro (if I make it in time
)
I plan on drinking at least a bottle of champagne too. No work until Tuesday. Rah!

Weirdness
After seeing my special quorn KFC style pic, someone from the MT list has emailed me a full list of Colonel Saunders’ recipes.
It tells me why the crispy coating tastes so good, at any rate. And also why they don’t do what I did. The coating isn’t very vegetarian at all
Recipes:
KFC ORIGINAL RECIPE
2 fryer chickens cut up into 8 pieces and marinated
6 cups Crisco Shortening
1 eggs well beaten
2 cups Milk
2 cups Flour
2 teaspoons ground pepper
3 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon MSG
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 dash paprika
Place shortening into the pressure cooker and heat over medium heat to the shortening reaches 400°F. In a small bowl, combine the egg and milk. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining six dry ingredients. Dip each piece of chicken into the milk until fully moistened. Roll the moistened chicken in the flour mixture until well coated. In groups of four or five, drop the covered chicken pieces into the shortening and lock the lid. When pressure builds up cook for 10
minutes. RELEASE TO MANUFACTURER’S INSTRUCTIONS
After he perfected his original he made a crispy recipe that was marinated first then fried the conventional way. This one is double dunked into the coating to give it its great taste.
KFC EXTRA CRISPY
1 whole frying chicken, cut up and marinated
6-8 cups shortening for cooking
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon MSG
1/8 teaspoon Paprika
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon Baking Powder
Trim any excess skin and fat from the chicken pieces. Preheat the shortening in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees. Combine the beaten egg and milk in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, combine the remaining coating ingredients (flour, salt, pepper and MSG). When the chicken has marinated, transfer each piece to paper towels so that excess liquid can drain off. Working with one piece at a time, first dip in egg and milk then coat the chicken with the dry flour mixture, then the egg and milk mixture again, and then back into the flour. Be sure that each piece is coated very generously. Stack the chicken on a plate or cookie sheet until each piece has been coated. Drop the chicken, one piece at a time into the hot shortening. Fry half of the chicken at a time (4 pieces) for 12-15 minutes, or until it is golden brown.
You should be sure to stir the chicken around halfway through the cooking time so that each piece cooks evenly. Remove the chicken to a rack or towels to drain for about 5 minutes before eating.
Once he perfected his Extra Crispy he had customers who wanted it to be spicy and bold so he created his Hot and Spicy Chicken. Here is his original recipe which has changed a bit in this day and age. It comes frozen and is cooked frozen and not prepared fresh in many stores.
Hot and Spicy Chicken
1 whole frying chicken, cut up and Marinated
6-8 cups shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon white pepper
3/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
3/4 teaspoon MSG
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/8 teaspoon Baking Powder
Trim any excess skin and fat from the chicken pieces. Preheat the shortening in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees. Combine the beaten egg and milk in a medium bowl. In another medium bowl, combine the remaining coating ingredients When the chicken has marinated, transfer each piece to paper towels so that excess liquid can drain off. Working with one piece at a time, dip in egg and milk then coat the chicken with the dry flour mixture, coated very generously. Stack the chicken on a plate or cookie sheet until each piece has been coated. Drop the chicken, one piece at a time into the hot shortening. Fry half of the chicken at a time (4 pieces) for 12-15 minutes, or until it is golden brown. You should be sure

Computers suck...
...mine doubly so, as it has a dual processor. Bought more RAM for it as I suspected the old RAM is ill - turns out that the old RAM is not ill, it’s just not compatible with the ECC registered newer ram. Ah well. So I thought I’d put the swanky new RAM in with the old RAM (neither are ECC) and have a gig of RAM and a very fast PeeCee!
How wrong was I?
Now I have a PC that randomly crashes. I can’t scan the images of the lovely lady I’m making a website for as my scanner kills photoshop when I try and acquire stuff. I can’t run the 3d screensaver as it all grinds to a halt after 5 minutes. It’s all horrible!
So there I was, telling youse lot all about my weekend with stikki and it crashed. Ate the lot
Sooo...
Spent lots of Sunday morning working, went to meet a client at 10:30 (at the wrong station, but hey
) came back with a little more work, finished the KHRP annual report stuff for Rochelle, lounged about, slept some, etc.
Yesterday was spent arguing with my PC, as above. James was at a wedding, and so I woke up this morning to some lovely pics of him in a suit. Bless
Far too much work to do tonight...I suspect I may have to unplug the older RAM and see if it’s that that’s causing the issue with it.
Pay day tomorrow! WooHoo!

Saturday. Stikki (Nikki) came to visit me, with Brian. They get free travel on trains because Brian’s a guard on one of them, it’s very cool...so Nikki comes down lots and lots and lots.
Today’s excuse was that she needed some new clothes for a christening on Sunday. Brian got dragged along because he needed a new pair of trainers...so we met up at Tottenham Court Road and armed with wallets and nerves of steel, we struck off in search of shops.
First stop was the discount shoe store thing, so we could get Brian’s trainers. He looked at the prices and decided that “discount” was a relative term and we left.
Next stop, Selfridges.
I knew it was a mistake going in that place, as I’ve been in there with Nikki before, and it was hell when she didn’t want to buy things...so we traipsed up to the womens floor and wandered about fruitlessly for a time looking at pricetags and making odd sucking noises through our teeth. Brian moaned about being hungry, so we carefully ignored him but decided to go in search of the food hall, so we could giggle at all the funkeh foods rich people can buy.
We missed the food hall by a floor (navigation was never my strong point) and ended up in the “things” department.
I’m pretty sure it wasn’t called the “things” department, but hey, artistic license and everything. Plus, it appeared to sell “things” with no rhyme or reason. A 1930s Indian birdcage next to the cutlery section. Rude postcards next to rubber ducks. That kind of thing.
Nikki liked the rubber duck. She decided that it should become a rubber gift duck and picket it up. I found some pasters in the shape of kisses and lips and stuff, and so they became gift plasters, and so on. After paying (that damn duck did not want to be scanned at all) we decided to go upstairs again. Brian moaned everso slightly more loudly about being hungry, so we made our escape and headed into the myriad side streets in search of something cheap and filling. Fnar Viewed 366 times. Viewed 282 times. Just finished reading it...it’s very interesting - written in 1932, it uncannily predicts the future in a few ways - you’re left double guessing about some of the content, “did that kinda thing exist then?” etcetera. It’s interesting to read his ideas about how he sees the future utopia - replace soma with TV, he’s there. The promiscuous behaviour in the book is pretty much true to how we are now, even though it would have shocked people in 1932. Well worth reading, if only to say you have.
The dialogue is a tad dated, but the prose is gorgeous, he has a very rich way of describing the mundane, it’s kinda unsettling though to read, thinking how much of what he wrote would have shocked the people of his era. And the gorgeous ambiguity of the “moral” arguments still holds true today
Viewed 284 times. Not sure what I should write about today really. Am having lots of exciting ideas about themes, James wants to implement something whereby we can build them dynamically, I’m not sure yet that this would be a good idea, might be better when we get our own server Viewed 273 times. And I have moneh again, thanks to Roberto Viewed 411 times. I would guess that the stormhosts servers got virussed, as they’ve been unavailable for a while...it appears that there’s a new set of nameservers been added, these appear to work ok, but this server’s up and down a bit at the moment. Hopefully it’ll all be right by tomorrow, then I can finish the bits of site I have remaining, but who knows!
At least I’ll be able to mail the support guys by then as their email address won’t keep bouncing - then I may have an idea about what’s going on! Viewed 307 times. Oops
Viewed 402 times. so...what do I do?
Viewed 285 times. OK - last time I tried this it timed out on me. I wrote the fucker and it timed out on me. Gratitude.
I was postulating the idea of simply staying up all night because no-one’d know. Oops, my alarm just went off, so that means I no longer need to postulate, I’ve done it. Ah well. I was saying something along the lines of “If I stay up all night, who’d know, apart from my gran”
And the reason why she’d know (she probably does know, it’s her birthday today and I feel evil for having subjected her to this mood of mine, but I have little choice) is to do with empathy.
Empathy is something you hear about in StarTrek, something of science fiction, except it’s not really...and therein lies the problem.
When I was younger, we’re talking 16, maybe 17, just after I met Mark, I used to go to a dropin centre in Norwich called the Mancroft Advice Project. This place was cool for two reasons, 1) it was funded by the local church, but, unlike so many others, decided that the people who came through the door mattered more than what they believed, and secondly, it did good coffee for 5p
So I started going to this place because friends of mine went there (Feg was told that it was worth checking out, so she went and liked it). As an upshot, I was considering my sexuality at the time and was very confused and naive as are most newly discovered bisexuals.
MAP offered counselling, which after a short time of being there (and seeing Feg after she’d come out of the sessions) I decided I could probably do with some counselling as I was very confused about who and what I was.
I had learned from an early age, much as my gran had, that if I got close to people, when they were upsed or confused, I’d feel it too...it’s at this point that sensible people leave the conversation, fair enough, but hey, there’s more to see...
My gran (although I’ve never talked to her about this) has gone through her whole life feeling to some extent what the other people in her life feel. I was lucky! I went to MAP and met a wonderful woman called Brigid (I’m pretty sure I spelled her name wrong, but it’s late/early so I’m not that bothered). Now Brigid was cool for two reasons, one, she didn’t subscribe to the chrisian dogma that was kind implied in the place, she was gently ribbed for believing in tarot, etc, and two, when she was a young girl in London, her family doctor was Dr Bush, Kate Bush’s dad.
I had counselling with an amazing woman called Barbra (Bob to her friends) however, Brigid was very perceptive.
She recognised in me the empathy thing, and explained it to me (without prompting) and told me that it was a gift, but a double edged sword...
She explained how easy it was for someone as empathic as myself to burn out. This made sense to me, as every person I was close to was in the middle of a crisis, she also explained to me how to temporarily stop the empathy thing, so I could get some peace and gather my own time...It involves visualisation and it’s a bit tricky to do right, and if you’re empathic and used to it (as my gran is) it’s very weird the first time you do it. Basically because you remove all the external thoughts and actions just by the power of thought, and it’s *very* odd for the first time...it’s almost like silencing a part of you. well, thinking about it, it’s exactly that. You are silencing the other people that make you feel sick in your stomach, and it’s very very odd the first time around.
Now, it’s my Gran’s birthday today. I would love to give her the gift of being able to block this out, but I’m really not sure how to do it...I could explain to her, but she finds more truths in her self help books than in reality...and I don’t know what to do. Although I’m pretty damn sure that if I turn up with a hole in my arm she’ll not listen to a word I say because she’ll be preoccupied with almost losing a grandson Viewed 285 times. Wahey...car crash outside, involving a bus skidding and missing, and a car skidding and hitting the parked car of one of the scary PizzaMen opposite. Cor!
Viewed 266 times. Right...just about got the site working sensibly again Viewed 437 times. Pretty crappy day - changed the way the site accesses the database this morning, to discover at lunch time when I tried to use it that the new way is far more strict about reserved words and that words such as “read” are reserved apparently (meaning the message system and the forums instantly failed to work!)

Introduced James to Roberto, sorted through some personal shite that’d been nagging at me for a while, decided we need to talk some more, felt hungover, made excuses to family about not being able to be there (well, if I’m ill, it makes little sense to be around children and old people!) and fiddled with the code some more.

Still no sign of the moneh from BA, but hey, I’ll give them a couple of days
Brian and I settled on a small Italian with a cheapish set menu...we’d abandoned Nikki by this time as she was intent on fiddling with a small designer toy shop in a side alley. Slowly it seemed to be sinking in that everything that looked nice, individual and different in London was therefore subject to a 100% price hike, which was probably a good thing as it meant we didn’t have to stop in every single shop ever
My suggestion that she buy $newchild a nappy reading “My godmother went to London and all I got is this lousy nappy” was met with a scowl. Bah. Some people have no sense of humour.
Food consisted of the afforementioned set menu. I had prawn cocktail (5 prawns sprinkled over limp lettuce piled on top of crabsticks and doused in pink goo) and scampi - Nikki had something that I think involved paté for starters and then pasta dumped unceremoniously on top of a bit of chicken. Not sure what Brian had, but it was pretty painless I should imagine. Almost forgot to pay, oops!
Heading off to that scary place called Oxford Street (again) so Nikki could shop some more...I pushed her in Gap (EEvil) and we found her a lovely outfit, even if she wasn’t convinced about it
Cream top with a red pattern and lovely red cords. I think it’ll have gone well together
“My mother will have a fit when she sees me in the church wearing red, ’you’re not wearing red to church!’”
“Tell her it’s from London and therefore stylish”
“She’s convinced nothing good ever came out of London”
I wait to see what happened
We escaped Central London - my idea - as there are some small shoe retailers out by Spitalfields. Sadly they were all closed by the time we got there.
I was thirsty tho and suggested we visit a bar I’d been looking at oddly for a few months now - y’see, it’s made out of an old public toilet and is entirely underground. So we went to investigate
*cackle*
*snigger*
Tho as an upshot I now know how to do those funkeh 3d aqua buttons!
yay!

A Brave New World
whoa horsey
Where do we go from here with the site? Was looking at hosting solutions...getting a 1U space in a rack’s not that expensive, possibly 3x what we’re paying at the moment (which is only just over a tenner a month) - the hardware and OS licenses would be more expensive, but grants are gettable, etc. I don’t mind the odd “sponsored by” or “supported by” message on the front page if it means we can keep this a free service and not have to charge anything.
Still, the deal the site’s on at the moment is pretty cool, I’m just not sure that it’ll support more than about 20 users concurrently, which could be an issue. Or maybe I’ll just wait for the site to reach breaking point and then decide at that point what to do?
We’re currently sat on a shared server, and it could become an issue if we or another site on the server use up too many resources. Tho this site’s built to be fairly lightweight, there’s at least one database write on every page, and this is likely to become greater if I do anything funkeh with the stuff that’s stored in cookies at the moment
As far as I can see, there’s three alternatives to sponsorship...
1) Make the users pay a subscription of a quid a month or something
2) Collect some “trustees” of the site who are willing to donate £5-£10 a month to keep it running
3) Stay this big. Don’t advertise. Keep this as a close knit community
I prefer idea number 2, because then it’s opt in, and to all intents and purposes remains a free site, but it’d depend on the level of interest, failing that, number 3
I’ve written a preview function
cor!
Right...I should set up the preferences panel really...back to work...
Server woes
The scabs are coming off my shoulder. Just thought I’d share that with you all! Not bad for a week’s worth of intensive healing
Need a cigarette less today, which is a good thing
well...we have comments on blogs...
mmm
cool
I’ve just set it to use ethos as nameserver again, as my ADSL seems more reliable than their server farm. D’oh.
and in other news, as the proxy here at work has been set to a slightly less draconian level of security and they’ve turned basic auth back on, I can access things by SSH again. Also, as it’s a proxy, I can’t access freakcity from work, so I’m using links to write this. So far, so good, the whole site is really quite useable in lynx. Groovy
gah
I was gonna make all the bits for adding comments to blogs live tonight, but I just know that if I start now I’ll be here until 2am and I’ll feel even more like shit tomorrow
urgh
Happy Tuesday
So as a consequence I can no longer use PuTTY to get a connection outside, and I can no longer use Netscape 4 to check the application that I’m developing for them. Nice one
Have mailed support (again), will see if they can help...
So. Day two of webmail and my eyes are bleeding.
I may have to write a webmail client some time that *works* and *works right* when it does...
In other news...I almost missed the train
but they let me on at the last minute
And I got to watch a strange and pervy old conductor on the train too...it was one of the new ones with the funky cylindrical toilets - he was sat by it, explaining to any women that entered them that they pressed “D” to close the door, and then “Lock” and then “D” to open the door again *swish* went the door as it closed almost half way, and then opened again to him saying “Oh, I’m terribly sorry, I must have pushed something, try again?” or somesuch. Twice.
Dirty dirty old man
bah
mmm...nice weather
Trains DEAD
Got up this morning, opened the door and felt a chill wind. Yay! It’s misty with a hazy sun at the moment...should be hot again, but far less humid than it has been, which can only be a good thing. Especially, considering Pixel (The PC Who Walks Through Walls) was running at over 60°C yesterday - which is a tad hot for a burning hunk of shiny black sex machine PC.
Jmaes came over to admire my wound, happy to say that having an injured shoulder didn’t seem to upset...uhm.../other/ areas
So, woke up on time, feeling like death, to discover Roberto has nicked half my soya milk, the bastard!
I was feeling like death as I slept quite badly, mostly because of the heat, partly because of the air conditioner. I filled it with water on Saturday evening, however I was quite surprised when it woke me with a “low water” notification at 5am...it had run out...the thing takes 17 litres at a time!
James’s PCs were all melting too...so he was idly window shopping PC sites - he found these incredible refridgerated PC cases which look very fun. Only trouble is, they’re over £300 each...still, am tempted to get one for the server...I could apparently overclock it impressively
Why don’t PC chip manufacturers stop and think from time to time? Surely if we’ve broken the 3Ghz mark it should be possible to make a silent, no fan required chip, at a lower speed, benefitting from the new technology? Market it as the chip for a living room PC and you’d have a silent machine that could play DivX/MP3/anything like that...you’d be on to a winner, surely?
yay

what do I do with Gran?
what do I do with Gran?
what do I do with Gran?
coo
hmm
Arm hurts, but hey, what can I expect...and apparently it’ll hurt ten times worse tomorrow. Definitely looking forward to that
It’s not good...I feel scared cycling now...sometimes life really sucks badly
Marvellous!
So, anyways, there’s me being late having got frustrated with the code and left too late - belting along on my bike (did 2.9 miles in 12 minutes, which is pretty good considering all the traffic lights and Evil Digger Drivers crashing into me, but I’m getting ahead of myself
- I almost end up under a van because I’m going too fast and the van driver’s a fuckwit who sees “gap in traffic” and thinks “speed” - zoom round the corner, come out the tunnel, start up to the hill towards London Bridge and go past the big diggers and stuff they have parked on the left.
I notice the bloke on top waving at his mate in the JCB behind as I indicate to go past the stationary vehicles. Only this muppet decides to go right too. Right into me. I think I startled him as I bounced off the front of his digger and he stopped, then started again.
What fuckwit pulls out before looking behind them? Or even indicating!
So I have a HUGE bruise on the top of my arm...fortunately nothing broken, but it hurts like fuck.
And the thing is, when I had my bike “sorted out” yesterday, the bike bloke asked if he could take it out for a spin to see if he could see what I was on about, and he raised the seat somewhat in the process.
Now I’m a bit of a short arse, and the bike is now too tall for me, but I didn’t have time this morning to be able to lower the saddle any - which is kinda fortunate, or that bucket on the front of the works vehicle would have gone straight into my neck and I’d probably not be here to type this.
I know I lead a bit of a charmed life (or as I like to call it, balanced
) but that kinda thing just weirds me out.
Still, I got in and out of casualty in half hour this evening - must be a record for a Friday afternoon!
And I think I’ve fixed the rest of the site. But I’m gonna keep testing things I think
Like whether or not I can post to the blog...
My hair is less fucked.
My hair is fucked
Grr
New Palm, New Labour
now all I gotta do is learn how to do graffiti 2 on moving trains. It’s got the same funkeh screen as the Zire, but twice the memory, plus bluetooth, which the Zire doesn’t have. And it’s aluminium, not plastic. Came with a free screen guard too! Which I made a cockup of putting on, so I think I should probably buy more. Am quite pleased with it, even if it does crash lots when bluetoothing.
Not a bad day at work...played some more with modal and modeless windows, which was nice
Jeff broke my desk. Which was also nice...he has that look about him anyway, like he’s the kind of person that Things happen to. He has Kayaks in the back of his car. That kind of thing scares me.
Think something is slowing my palm down somewhat, though I have no idea what it could be, but it seems to take ages to write stuff...the letters seem to take their time forming...very odd...but hey. I’m known for having technology that never works right anyways.
Ordered a soft case and some more screen protectors, at any rate, so it can be a gay palm...look pretty, cost a lot, and not do a lot else.
Got a 5% discount on my travel card on account of the poor service. So of course the trains are broken. Again. So I’m taking the scenic route home
gonna lug my bike outta Blackfriars and cycle from there...
Meant to be taking Roberto to visit Owen tonight (if I ever get home) as he might be interested in renting an OwenRoom...well, if Owen stops dribbling long enough
It’s a gorgeous day and so should be nice.
And I’ve just been hit by a really strong urge for a cigarette and have no idea why!
Sun sun sun in the fun fun fun
BA refund through, so I might go and buy a T2 in a moment, though I know it would be bad of me...
Working from home today, should get most of my work finished I think, it’s so peaceful and nice here, much better than 1.5 hours of commute and then crappy office - just wish they’d see it my way and let me work from home more often!
Still...10 months more and then I’m standing on my own two feet
(well, if I can gain some more contracts before then!)
Why is it always gorgeous when I can’t go out and play?
From Mother, With Love
yay
So, I shall busy myself with freakcity a bit, whilst knowing full well that what I should be doing is KHRP stuff to earn me moneh and keep Rochelle happy. But my laptop’s broke, and that’s where I keep Distiller...and I know I should just install it on my MegaPeeCee, but hey
The sun is shining, the trees are singing, the birds are swaying in the breeze...Roberto has this “Rainbow Maker” thingy, it’s really sweet - it’s got a piece of cut glass, suspended from a turning mechanism. The turning mechanism is in turn driven by a small solar panel on top, so when the sun hits it, it defracts light onto the walls, and slowly the ickle rainbows move round the room.
It’s dead pwetty!
windows update? Death more like
Better?
Still feel sleepy and lethargic, large dose of coffee has singularly failed to help that, so I may have to nap.
Damn!
My life is so hard!
Have worked out that I double booked tomorrow’s photo session with my Gran’s birthday. D’oh. Will try and contact him later and find out if I can reschedule, tho as he’s a paying customer, I’m not entirely sure what I’ll do if I can’t reschedule
