The prolific culinary mis-delights of a vague chef

Wednesday August 20th, 2008 at 10:47am

Well, I’m a clever boy indeed, I’ve managed to find a rather lovely job! I’m now a commis chef, and with training I shall become a sous chef - hoorah to promotions! This is now my third week of work and I am enjoying it thoroughly : D My feet complain ever so occasionally that I’m on them so much, but a hot bath and they forgive me! I start college soon for my cullinary course, provided by my employer, which is rather cushty! Complete career change for me from the admin jobs of old, but I find it much more fruitful and challenging, which is a great asset to me! I am still slightly confused as to events a few weeks ago, not too sure how I ever felt that low or insecure, but that time is gone now and I am better for it! Not a lot else to say, so I shall bid you all adieu and speak again when I have more news!

WORK!!!!!!

Friday August 8th, 2008 at 3:19am

Well, started my new job yesterday. Commis chef for a local restaurant. Shitty right now, doing pot-wash and prep, but even if I was higher up, it’d need doing, just wish I didn’t do it as often! But learning my way around the kitchen and doing more cooking as I learn my way round. 3 shifts next week, same the week after, full time in september. Employer is even sending me to catering college! Such a career change, but I’m loving it. No typing, no personal interface - just good old-fashioned hard work and a bloody good challenge! Bring it on! My feet ache like hell, but that’s 12hs on them for you lol But I wouldn’t give it up for the world, because now I really have the opportunity to work myself from the bottom up and then everything I have will have been achieved by me and not a hand-out. New car in 2 months, new pad in 5 - can’t wait! Start my degree September next year in engineering and mathematics, can’t wait for that either!
