The ramblings of a fool... a mad one at that!
I cant get no sleeeeeep....
Network design is FUN! Forum BFS.jpg Managed to nearly fix my boiler, got the elements changed yesterday, as you can see from my flickr pics they were very shagged indeed
Still got the ones in, boiler filled and it didnt leak! so ive tested one element and it works, i get nice hot water for a change, will test the economy 7 one tonight when the meter kicks in at midnight.... so heres for hoping
On other notes, im getting my insomnia back, couldnt sleep last nite, took some pills which seemed to help and i drifted off about 2-3am. Still have to see.
Making a list of things i need to get fixed in this flat so i can sell the place and move to london and get a nice place with my bro, we are looking at some nice penthouse apartments in the docklands, once im down in london i can then start looking for a new job, so heres for hoping
Job is ok at the moment, got the operating plan for next year, i loose 2 heads from my team which is a bugger but we maybe able to do it through ‘natural wastage’ or whatever they call it. Been doing my appraisal documents for when i have my meeting with my manager, i sound like god reading it but ive been carrying the IBM Internal network support for years, i demand something good back, if i dont its just gonna help me out the door more.
Anyway gonna work from home for the next few days, get away from the office and clear my head, should be good for me.
Back to the X-files i go

Plumbing is not my skills
Simple eh? OK, i cant do plumbing, i thought it would be a nice simple job to replace the 2 knackered elements in my Immersion Heater, i mean even googling for it makes it sound simple :-
""Turn off the boiler and immersion heater and close the cold feed as described earlier.
Switch off the power supply to the immersion.
Open the hot taps to release water.
At the base of the cylinder there will be a drain cock. Attach a length of hose to this with the aid of a jubilee clip if necessary. Run the hosepipe to an outside drain or sink/bath/WC at a lower level.
Open the drain cock and the water will be released from the cylinder. ""
I mean, how difficult does that sound, so once me and my brother had thought it was drained we started to remove the elements then out pi**ed the water all over the loft which dripped down into the bathroom. I was not happy.
Did it all back up before too much drained out and have left it, its still weeping a little bit of water so ill need to get a plumber in, shall look in the yellow pages tommorrow morning.
Still it was a fine end to a crap day, hope tommorrow is better, thats if i make it, theres a lovely bottle of whisky and a pack of paracetamol with my name on it....
