So what’s happened over the past couple of weeks? I watched more firefly, it did get better but then I watched ep 8 (out of gas?) and found it a bit weak - maybe it’s me, it just didn’t seem to have any depth. Anyway I have 9-11 still to watch then on to the last DVD (definitely next in my rental list). Have been asked by work to go to India for three weeks on Easter Monday - well that was the plan but like the old company they don’t seem to be able to organise the proverbial. There’s been a complete fuck up with the install and so now they ’want to postpone for two weeks, but watch this space for more details’ - well not like I have a life or anything. Anyway I’m sure things will sort themselves out (I was reminded of one trip I took where they ummed and aahed and the MD eventaully rang me about 10pm Friday to say I was flying to New York on the Sunday - oh how we laughed). Went to Birmingham to get a visa, the consulate was not what I was expecting. Can believe that they need to spend millions on New St., it’s a cack-hole. It was fun wandering round while waiting for the paperwork to be done though. Cute boy sat across the aisle on the way back, so that was nice. Have arranged to have the jabbings next Thursday, think I only need Hep A and typhoid boosters. The pharmacist I spoke to told me I needed Japanese Enc, but having read up I’m pretty sure that I don’t. Got up at mad hours last Saturday and Sunday to watch the Aus GP (yes I know I’m mad and it’s pointless, no need to point out the bleeding obvious). Met up with the smarties group Thursday of last week, when I was supposed to be in four different places at once - that meant that once again I didn’t make the Harkers. Toyed with the idea of going on the way home but wouldn’t have got there until 10.30 and had to catch the 6.30 train from Chester the following morning. Decided it wasn’t a good idea. Have been mad busy at work, there never seem to be enough hours in the day. I was hoping that things would have settled down as people got used to using the application, but between our lot and the old US office I seem to be getting more and more requests and questions every day. Our paperwork system for changing things is poo too. Far too much toing and froing of paper and signatures required. Don’t think things have settled down at work either, and there’s something in the air which I’m pretty certain will mean more heads disappearing (hopefully not mine). Had actually been feeling a bit better about work recently, but then they go and pile on more crap and it ends up being one step forward and two steps back (or at least 1.5). Latest is that we are to no longer have names, everything will be referred to by our new employee numbers (so just rank and serial number then). I want some business card with my number where my name should be, but think my boss might have a sense of humour failure if I even mention it in jest. Have to work tomorrow, and I don’t really do Saturdays
