Last week didn’t really do much. didn’t Harker because I wasn’t feeling very sociable (that should have been a reason for going along). Hopefully will make it along there this week as I am feeling... well let’s just say a little better. Did go and see Brokeback Mountain at the cinema, very thought-provoking and quite sad (but not, for me at least, a ‘cry out loud’ film, which is strange cos I usually cry at the drop of a hat). Also went to see Underworld : Evolution this week as I’d nejoyed the first one so much. Of course most of my mates are naturally drooling over Kate Beckinsale in tight leather (or is it PVC?). I preferred seeing Scott Speedman’s bum on screen though ; ) Went out Thursday with the nwsmarties. There’s talk of us all going ballroom dancing - wonder whether a backless ballgown would suit me. Thence to Friday - went to the building site that is my cousin Steve’s ‘new’ house in Rhosneigr. Eeek, it’s scary that it’s so ‘building iste’ and not really building and they’re supposed to be moving in at the end of April!! It’s a nice house (though it was a trifle bizarre before the builders moved in and gutted it) and it is in a beautiful location. I wouldn’t be paying 500k for it though - double eek! Of course it was a beer evening and we went for dinner at the local pub. Karaoke was on and I had enough beer in me to get up. Ghastly renditions of Killing Me Softly, Fairytale of New York and I Write the Songs followed. Slept in quite a cold caravan and wondered whether I would be hardy enough to go camping at the beginning of March (even if there is no snow).

Whisper

And so another week floats past. Had fun last Sunday up a mountain with a load of other peeps - yet another interweb group (this one based around evil cars). Thankfully it wasn’t the same mountain on which fruitbat was having nude pics taken (again) : ) Work, well work’s just work. Decided over Christmas that what was wrong with the company was wrong before we were taken over so gonna give the new company six months and if things haven’t changed then I really do need to get out. Complained to the boss that stuck away in my little corner of the building I don’t get any information, he agreed that communication was crap and he needed to change things. Good news: we’re getting a cost of living rise - 3% Bad news: it doesn’t come into force until April, though at that point it’s backdated to January. OK, I’m not exactly on the breadline but I don’t think I can ask the landlord to hold the rent increase (up a whopping 12.5%), or the electricity company to hold the price increase (up 8.5%), or the gas company to hold the price increase (up 5%) until I get my pay increase. Ah well. Had a community project meeting on Monday, some movement forward though not much. Since my main activity is going to be begging for funding then I wish we could get to a point where I could start thinking about asking for some of the forms and start filling them in. Sadly that seems as long off now as when I first joined the group 15 months ago. Lost 2.5lbs at Slimming World this week so heading back down towards my target weight. Another couple of weeks like that and I’d be back down there. My slimming got me in the paper last weekend, which meant loads of people at work telling me they’d seen the article in there. If it inspires even one person then I think that’s OK.
