Far, far too much has happened or hasn’t happened for me to bore people to de’ath with, but recently... Went to India on 6th May, returned home on 25th. Part of a large group who were out doing software testing - in the form of an OQ - for the next new system going in at work. This was Bangalore the capital of IT in India (apparently). Was a good experience in the actual going there and seeing the place (though parts were a bit of an eye-opener) but some of the work-related stuff was just pants. Spent most of the first week twiddling our thumbs as the IQ wasn’t finished, despite us being told that everything was hunky dory before we left the UK. Loads of network problems in the office, which meant that we lost at least another couple of days working time (and we had a heck of a lot to do). The Project Lead, a guy from the Netherlands was quite useless and spent most of the three weeks in an office upstairs instead of actually doing any leading. The Validation Lead wasn’t much better either, though at least you could find him and ask him questions. The guys from my site I already knew of course and I knew a couple from the Bathgate site. I’d not met anyone from the Kansas City, Missouri site before and they seemed a nice bunch of people. Cassie took our bizzarre British humour in her stride. Slowly getting over my jetlag - woke at 3am Fiday morning and couldn’t go back to sleep, 4am this morning though I managed to stay in bed and finally dozed off to wake about 7.30.
